A huge favourite at the Raiders during their Sieffert Oval era as they built towards their first premiership. No need for front rowers to cart the ball up from the kick-off as Phil sprinted fearlessly into the defence every time. His consistent performance at 100% effort is a role model for players of the modern era.

The fastest man in Newcastle was a genius for Manly and Canberra in the greatest era of the game. Fit as superman. Quick. Fearless. A passionate team man. Featured in the 1989 and 1990 grand final wins. Top bloke too. His oversized shoulder pads are an icon of the game.
